Program Goals:
To enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes and skills of a rice or corn farmer or rice or corn grower to minimize the input costs and effectively increase their yield.
Program Objectives:
- To equip trainees with scientific principles of crop and resource management
- To educate trainees to adjust various inputs to temporal and spatial variability of rice/corn fields; adopt integrated nutrient, water, weed, and pest management.
- Imparts systematic experience learning to trainees so that they can effectively adapt and use the technologies.
The GRAINS PRODUCTION NC II Qualification consists of competencies that a Rice/Corn farmer and Rice/Corn grower must achieve to conduct variety and seed selection, perform land preparation, carry- out crop establishment, manage crop and conduct harvest and post-harvest operations. It also includes performing manual land preparation.
